Phew, we are well and truly gripped by Olympic fever here at the studio *clutches laminated schedule and fuzzy mascot*. We spent yesterday afternoon on the edge of our seats (sofa) cheering Lizzie Armistead on to get her silver medal yesterday and it’s even rubbing off on our 4-year-old son who yesterday cried all the way round the supermarket becuase we’d torn him away from the sycnhronised diving (he is obsessed with
belly flopping jumping in the pool – an aspiring Olympian perhaps?)
So, in the spirit of London 2012, we’ve devised an olympic challenge and will cheer on Team GB by taking part in a sport from the schedule each day as part of our normal routine (with a few days off, we’re not machines).
Fancy joining us? Here is what we’ll do this week…
Tuesday 31st July – Rowing: 2000m
Wednesday 1st August – Swimming: 200m breaststroke
Thursday 2nd August – Cycling: 4k
Friday 3rd August – Athletics: 1500m run
Saturday 4th August – Rest
Sunday 5th August – Weightlifting: Clean & press 20 reps (making a note of the weight)
It’s a challenge so each will be er, challenging. Anyone fancy joining me for some (healthy) competition??
We’ll have a male and female winner each week and offer prizes for gold, silver and bronze. If you want to enter, drop us an email and I’ll send a workout log for you to complete. You can then mail it back at the end of each week with a picture of your time (on the console of the machine), making sure the distance is also displayed and the person with the most winning times over 3 weeks wins!
Prizes are as follows:
Gold = A core strength and sports massage session
Silver = A 60 minute sports massage
Bronze = A 30 minute sports massage
