Services in this program will help you learn to manage your symptoms and teach you the skills needed to better handle current and future stress. Our staff will also support you during every step of your healing journey and encourage you to continue making positive progress along the way. In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life. Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person’s life.
Speaking from the experience I had as a patient for a week and a half, there are many good people on staff here. However, the doctors they contract need to do less prescribing and more listening. A 5-minute conversation will not suffice to understand somebody enough to give them mind-altering psychotropics/SSRIs, etc.
They provide intense outpatient programs (IOP), inpatient hospitalization, partial hospitalization (PHP), and partial hospitalization for children, teenagers, and adults. Clients can enjoy an on-site pool and fitness facilities, outdoor patio, home-like lounge spaces and shared bedrooms. Greenleaf accepts private and public insurances and is Joint Commission accredited. Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment.
With suicidality, a person fantasizes about suicide, or makes a plan to carry it out. Patient and therapist meet 1-on-1 to work through difficult emotions and behavioral challenges in a personal, private setting. Rockland Recovery Greenleaf is currently offering group sessions in person and/or via Telehealth. Please call our office at the phone number listed below to get more information and to register.
Residents are also often trained on life skills and coping skills to make it easier to transition into society. SLHs also provide a strong sense of community that can lead to the kind of deep and lasting connections with other sober individuals that supports a new, healthy lifestyle. Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people).
During my 17-day stay, I encountered severe abuse and mistreatment from the nursing staff that left me physically and emotionally scarred. From the very beginning, I was subjected to unimaginable cruelty. The nurses not only punched and kicked me but also went so far as to spit in my face. On one occasion, they slammed my foot in a door, causing excruciating pain. This coercive practice made me feel helpless and trapped, adding to the overwhelming sense of fear and anxiety I was already experiencing. One of the most horrifying aspects of my stay was the behavior of Nurse Tammy. She repeatedly violated me, twisting my nipples and committing other unspeakable acts when she believed no one was watching. This level of abuse was not only physically painful but also deeply humiliating and degrading.
