Self-Employed Sports Therapist

We are looking for an experienced therapist to help our growing client base prevent and reduce back pain and get them back to doing the things they love.

The Position:

As a sports therapist, you’ll work 1-1 with spinal rehabilitation clients, assessing and treating back pain. You’ll help restore functionality and reduce pain through specialist rehabilitation equipment, physical exercise and manual therapy.

Your goal will be to significantly reduce back pain for your clients, increasing their confidence in activity and improving their mobility.


Experience: At least 2 years in a similar role with comparable goals and responsibilities. Experience in the prescription and teaching of exercise programmes.

Skills: You must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to put clients at ease. You must be comfortable with the use of IT systems, have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Education: Vocational or degree level qualification in sports therapy, sports rehabilitation or physiotherapy

Characteristics: You should be self-motivated, and willing to learn. Working as part of a small team, you must have a strong and positive attitude and be passionate about helping people.


Investigating clients’ history, posture and movement patterns to assess and diagnose back pain

Developing client’s confidence through the design, implementation and monitoring of rehabilitation programmes

Inspiring people to change their habits and improve functional movement patterns away from their sessions

Alleviating pain and tension through soft tissue techniques

Monitoring and tracking progress using accurate and regular record keeping
